0 of 9

Preseason is now fully in motion at Everton, with games already played against Austria Vienna and Accrington Stanley.

Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles have already been seen in Everton colours, and it shouldn't be too long until fans catch a glimpse of fellow new signings Arouna Kone and Gerard Deulofeu.

By the end of this week, Roberto Martinez will have trained with his entire first-team roster and will be able to gauge exactly if and where he needs additional reinforcements.

Once again, here is your weekly dose of transfer rumours and stories surrounding Everton. Be sure to check back later in the week for any further developments.

For those keeping track of all Toffees-related links over the summer, last week's transfer gossip can be found here.

    —LAST UPDATE: Friday, July 26—

Sinclair an Option

1 of 9

    Friday July 26

Once again Scott Sinclair has been linked to the Toffees, this time by The Metro's Danny Griffiths.

The Manchester City winger has often found himself associated with a move to the Toffees and Griffiths claims Everton are in fact favourites to land his signature.

No New Bids for Fellaini or Baines

2 of 9

    Thursday July 25

Everton have yet to receive any new bids for either of their two most coveted players, Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.

That's according to Roberto Martinez, who spoke to Sky Sports News, which is quoted by The Independent

When asked if there had been any new bids, Martinez said:

Not at all. And I know that probably that's not something that you want to hear but it's clearly what it's been in the last two or three weeks.

Everyone is really focused to try to fight for that starting spot at the beginning of the season. The competitive level in this group is quite impressive.

The closer the season gets to starting the harder it would be for Everton to deal with either player leaving, so fans will hope this remains the case until the start of September.

McAleny out on Loan?

3 of 9

    Wednesday July 24

According to the Hounslow Chronicle, Conor McAleny is poised to join Brentford on a season-long loan.

The 20-year old has made a couple of substitute appearances for Everton but has struggled with injuries and this move would provide him with some much needed competitive action.

He was perhaps unlucky not to be on the Toffees' bench a little more often last year, after an impressive scoring haul for Everton Under-21s.

In total McAleny hit the net 10 times in just 12 appearances, a far better return than Apostolos Vellios (five in 21) who was often preferred as a first-team substitute.

Hosiner Linked

4 of 9

    Wednesday July 24

The Daily Star link Austria Vienna's Philipp Hosiner to Everton.

Roberto Martinez saw the striker first hand during his opening preseason game with the Toffees and, while he made little impact in that match, Hosiner scored an impressive 32 goals in 36 games last season.

Crystal Palace are also linked with the Austrian international who is supposedly valued at what seems a bargain £4 million.

Fellaini's Release Clause Expiring

5 of 9

    Wednesday July 24

Many media outlets have highlighted a release clause in Marouane Fellaini's contract and insist it runs out in the next few weeks.

Most of those sources claim the key date to be the start of the season, but The Metro are now reporting the clause expires at the end of the month, giving Fellaini's admirers barely a week to act.

Arsenal and Manchester United are the two sides mentioned in this article and both are yet to add too much to their squad. If this piece proves accurate then it could be an interesting few weeks, considering Evertonand Fellainijet off to America at the weekend.

Official: Conor Grant Signs

6 of 9

    Wednesday July 24

Following on from a number of fellow Everton youth team products, Conor Grant put pen to paper on his first professional deal with the Toffees.

The 18-year-old midfielder has appeared in both of Everton's preseason games but will face tougher competition for action once Ross Barkley and John Lundstram return from their extended summer breaks.

Everton's official website confirmed the two-year deal.

Jelavic Moving On?

7 of 9

    Monday July 22

Marouane Fellaini, Leighton Baines and Johnny Heitinga have been the players most frequently linked away from the Toffees this summer, but Nikica Jelavic has now joined them.

According to the Daily Mail, the Croatian is wanted by Hamburg, who are set to launch a £6 million bid.

The paper also suggest Martinez will favour Arouna Kone up front this season and quote Hamburg's sporting director, Oliver Kreuzer, as saying the following:

Jelavic would be exactly the right player for us. He is a really dangerous striker, but we have to scrutinise whether it is financially possible.

I have heard that Everton's new manager wants to sell him.

Day in, day out, I talk to all the agents, but nothing has come up yet. If we manage that [to sell two or three players] we could work out if a loan or a payment in instalments would be possible.

As disappointing as Jelavic was last season, his form over his first six months at Goodison Park surely merits another year at the club—especially with a new manager in charge.

If he can recapture his very best form, he would still be the Toffees' most potent finisher.

Two Kones at Everton?

8 of 9

    Monday July 22

The Daily Mail also claim Everton are considering a bid for Mory Kone, who currently plays for Le Mans in France.

Kone is a centre-back, and the paper report that Martinez wants extra cover for John Heitinga, who is attracting interest from Turkey.

Having already added Antolin Alcaraz, it would be surprising for Everton to bring in another centre-back without offloading someone first.

Toffees Battling Real Madrid for Siqueira

9 of 9

    Monday July 22

Following up on an article last week, talkSPORT's Zarif Rasul reports on Real Madrid joining the race for Guilherme Siqueira.

Apparently the Toffees failed with a recent £3.4 million bidwhich seems more than a little peculiar, considering Leighton Baines remains on Merseyside—and now the Spanish giants are poised to bid.

Liverpool and Galatasaray are also supposedly keen on the left-back who, despite a buyout clause of £13 million, could reportedly be acquired for around half that.
