Starter Hiroki Kuroda spun seven terrific innings. The batting order cranked out a dozen hits including three apiece by Brett Gardner, Lyle Overbay and Eduardo Nunez. On defense, Vernon Wells and Chris Stewart made throws that cut down runners at the plate and the Yanks turned a scintillating 2-4 double play.
