It's a simple question, with a very complicated answer. Olympic hockey is great; it's the game at its highest level, but does it help the NHL?
From a marketing perspective, you see the players playing with their countrymen on what are a collection of All-Star-caliber teams competing for gold. Does that marketing bring more attention to the NHL, though, or just promote hockey in general?
Check out the video above as B/R NHL Analyst Ryan O'Leary and I debate this question. Are the Olympics good for the NHL? Or do they ruin momentum as teams prepare to make their last push for the playoffs in the league's last couple months?
