I know that fans of the St. Louis Rams have been forced, for the last couple of years, to comfort themselves by looking at the team's few bright spots, but, the incompetent people that are currently in charge of that storied franchise keep making that more and more difficult.

Now, in a move that typifies the stupid personnel decisions that they've made over the last five years or so, boneheads in the St. Louis Rams front office today released the team's leading tackler, a fan favorite and one of the few defensive players that showed any real promise last year, linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa.

He was one of the smaller defensive players in the league at only 240 pounds, but despite his lack of size, he was skilled and cunning enough to pull together 88 individual tackles last season, and was one of the only few bright spots in an otherwise dreary year.

And now, by releasing him to make room for untested prospects, the Rams seemingly have decided to continue their grand tradition of squandering the little genuine talent that they have.

I know there's some convoluted explanation for this sorry turn of events, surely involving rookie contracts and low salary caps, but if this pitiful team keeps making steps that guarantees that they're not going to win, how many excuses are their beleaguered fans supposed to accept?
