The New York Knicks won a first-round playoff series for the first time in over a decade in 2012-13, but the big-market franchise still came up well short of its ultimate goal last season.

The team has made several moves since the season ended, though, selecting Tim Hardaway Jr. in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft last month, acquiring former No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani from the Toronto Raptors, re-signing star sixth man J.R. Smith and most recently acquiring Metta World Peace on a two-year deal.

But New York still has some vacant spots on its roster, and the Knicks don't appear finished making moves just yet.

Here we'll break down the latest free-agent buzz surrounding the reigning Atlantic Division champions this summer.

Knicks Close to Signing Euroleague Star Bobby Brown?

Free-agent point guard Bobby Brown has generated quite a bit of buzz around the league after averaging over 18 points and five assists per game overseas last season with Italian club Montepaschi Siena.

According to Yahoo! Sports NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks are one of the teams that have given Brown a serious look this summer:

In a continuing search for deeper point guard depth, the New York Knicks conducted a workout with free-agent guard Bobby Brown in Las Vegas on Tuesday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The 28-year-old floor general went undrafted out of Cal State Fullerton in 2007 and bounced around the league shortly after, playing for several teams before finally settling down in Europe a few years back.

Brown has appeared in 113 NBA games over the course of his career, averaging 5.1 points and 1.8 assists in just under 13 minutes per game. He hasn't appeared in an NBA game since the 2009-10 season.

Will Kenyon Martin Be Back in 2013-14?

According to's Jared Zwerling, Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald has had positive talks with Kenyon Martin's agent about the possibility of the veteran forward returning to New York next season.

Grunwald offered the following on the current situation, per Zwerling:

We are still very interested in Kenyon and giving him full consideration. We're just having discussions with Kenyon and his agent, and they're going pretty well at this time.

The 35-year-old Martin averaged 7.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 18 regular-season appearances for the Knicks last season after signing with the team in February.

Martin saw his minutes decrease somewhat during New York's 12-game playoff run last spring, but still managed to make an impact, averaging nearly six points, five rebounds and more than one blocked shot per game.

Although Martin's days of averaging a near double-double are long gone, he remains a defensive stalwart and a role player that can help the Knicks contend in the Eastern Conference next season.
