Over at her official Twitter account, WWE Diva Tamina has indicated that she's snagged a role in upcoming blockbuster Hercules.
The Diva recently tweeted that she is currently in Budapest, where the film is being made, and looking forward to filming her part. She also posted a picture of herself with the script.
Hercules stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and is directed by A-list filmmaker Brett Ratner. Ian McShane (Deadwood) and Rufus Sewell (Dark City) will co-star.
Industry site Deadline recently reported that the film is currently scheduled for release on July 25, 2014. Hopes are high for Hercules: Deadline mentions that the big-budget film is being aimed to be the beginning of a franchise.
The site also provided a brief synopsis of the plot:
After renouncing his mythological origins, Hercules lives in exile and fights as a mercenary for hire alongside his loyal but weary comrades. Hercules and his crew will face their most challenging labor yet when one battle forces the man behind the myth to question everything he once believed, and reconsider the truth behind his own legend.
Presumably Rock pulled some strings to get Tamina, his real-life cousin, a part in the film.
Despite being one of the best female wrestlers on the roster, the 35-year-old has been woefully underused during her stint in WWE.
The company doesn't seem to know what to do with her.
Maybe a role in a top Hollywood film, even if it's a small one, will help get her back on management's radar.
