Does the NBA season ever end?

Once the Finals end, the draft isn't far off, and after that free agency kicks in. And then there is July's two-week summer league. For basketball junkies, it's enough to make a grown man giddy.

But which players came in with the most to prove this summer? Which players had the most to gain on their current teams?

Let's find out.

Jeremy Lamb, Oklahoma City Thunder

James Harden left last summer. Kevin Martin left this summer. Would you look at that, minutes at the 2-guard position in Oklahoma City have opened up like the Red Sea.

The question is, can Lamb take this opportunity and run with it?

Lamb appeared in just 23 games for the Thunder last season, averaging 3.1 points in 6.4 minutes per game. But with Martin gone, there is a void on the bench for a point-scorer that Lamb could win. Lamb has a chance to impress and earn a bigger role next season.

It's a chance he has to take.

With Dwight Howard now in town, the Rockets will be keen to see who might pair well with the big man down on the block. While Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik figure to get plenty of minutes, Jones has the opportunity to prove he belongs in that rotation.

Jones was rarely utilized last season, playing just 19 games and averaging 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds while getting 14.5 minutes per contest. But with his combination of athleticism and strength, he could slot in at either forward position and offer the Rockets some versatility off the bench.

If he comes up big, that is.

Moe Harkless, Orlando Magic

Harkless was quite good in his rookie season, averaging 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 26 minutes per game. But with with Victor Oladipo, Arron Afflalo and Tobias Harris on the wings, Harkless is going to have to make a big impression this summer to earn even more minutes than he did a year ago.

The Magic went from a team that was a mess post-Howard to one that has a lot of depth, and Harkless is going to need to find a way to stand out. Given his rookie season and how well he developed throughout, however, don't be surprised if he finds a way to get himself noticed consistently.
