The Oakland Raiders just don't understand! It has been 2 weeks now since the 2009 NFL Draft and the buzz about there draft has not stopped, and probably won't until week 1 of the season. Drafting Heyward-Bey in the first, followed by the shock of the draft: Michael Mitchell, in the second. As far as I am concerned the Raiders should have drafted defense first, like a defensive tackle to sure up there horrible run defense that has cost them to become one of the worst run defenses over the past several years. Instead they went for other need and reached on almost every single pick. It is a hard time to be a Raiders fan and I have seen it like this now since we were last in the Super Bowl. That seems like forever ago and it may be a long time until they get back there again unless they regain some of their common sense and smart decisions that brought them there in the first place. So I think they should get back to the basics and draft talent not just size, or speed, and go after players with championship pedigrees, not one-year wonders. It is hard to be a Raiders fan nowadays but there will always be hope no matter what and that is what keeps me dreaming about winning again someday soon. Hopefully for all the Raider fans it is sooner rather then later, we can't stand much more of Al Davis!
