Was that Rex Ryan running with the bulls in Pomploma, Spain? Yes, I do believe it was.
When the New York Jets head coach isn't running his team into a tie for last place in the AFC East, multiple reports indicate that he can be found running for his life (video at Deadspin) as he's being chased through Spain in one of the weirdest, I-can't-believe-they-still-do-that traditions on planet Earth.
Actually, the Running of the Bulls is a serious Spanish tradition. It's the veritable centerpiece of the festival of San Fermin, which dates all the way back to the 14th century. And since those folks had no smartphones or Netflix to keep themselves busy, they did what they had to do to get their rocks off, I guess.
And might I add that Ryan has continued to improve his physique since his 2010 gastric bypass surgery. Lopping off those extra pounds was surely helpful when dodging horned cattle.
Join me as I wave a red cape at Rex Ryan's latest foray into the ridiculous in this week's "Let Me Get This Straight." Enjoy my caliente takes in the video above and leave your own thoughts in the comments below.
As always, thanks for watching.
