It was a much better second half performance from Ghana but ultimately France have had just too much for them and deservedly take their place in the final.
They will play either Uruguay or Iraq, stay tuned to Bleacher Report for coverage of that match in an hour, and for plenty of reaction from this game too.
Thanks as always for joining me and see you soon for the next game!
France 2 Ghana 1
France are through to the FIFA U20 World Cup Final
90+3'—France clear the ball upfield and that might be all over.
90+2'—Final seconds. Baba has several chances to cross from the left but he's blocked out several times. Ghana look beaten now.
90+1'—We're well into the three minutes already and France have a free kick in their own half; Ghana have to simply get the ball back and get it forward. They need a shot on goal.
Three minutes added on
90'—We head into injury time—and Assifuah rockets in a shot! Great save by Areola who tips over!
88'—Ghana win a series of free kicks but they just can't get the ball into any real promising position to deliver or create danger.
86'—So we head into the final five minutes of the game then, with France leading 2-1. Have Ghana got another late equaliser in them?
83'—Anaba is booked for a foul on Zouma who made a 30-yard burst forward. Zouma is down getting treatment and time is ticking down. Undoubtedly those factors are entirely unrelated.
Ghana sub: Kennedy Ashia off, Richmond Boakye on
France sub: Thauvin off, Mouhamadou Sarr on
Umtiti holds off the attacker with his arm in the air and the referee deems it an elbow in the face, red card!
Extremely harsh for the French defender but France are down to 10, Umtiti out of the final if they get there!
Aboagye is straight away looking for that second equaliser, but sees his stabbed shot saved with a great stretch from Areola, who tips it wide. The French goalkeeper has been in excellent form this evening.
France back ahead! Thauvin cuts inside and lets fly with a left-footed shot and he buries it in the bottom corner of the net, beating Sai at his near post. Really good finish, but already questions being asked over whether he should have been sent off after his first goal. A quarter of an hour left for Ghana to find a second equaliser.
France 2 Ghana 1
Florian Thauvin, 73 mins
71'—Acheampong with a great run and he smacks the ball across the six-yard box, but neither of Ghana's two attackers in the centre can get enough on the ball to divert it into the back of the net from close range.
70'—Kennedy Ashia tries a gentle chip from the free kick, but it hits the wall and is quickly cleared. Should have done better.
69'—Bahebeck is booked for a clumsy challenge on Aboagye and, more importantly, he's conceded a free kick in a dangerous area near the edge of the box.
67'—Thauvin sets off on a run through midfield and cracks away a shot, but he's cut right across the ball and slices it miles wide instead of bending it back around toward the goal. Bright run but poor end product again.
64'—Ghana have certainly been the better of the two teams in this second half, and they've got the equaliser they deserved. Will they keep up this domination over the final 25 minutes though? Or are they handing the advantage back to France by failing to score a second while in the ascendency?
62'—Duncan is lining up a free kick, but he's a long way out...and he's hit it a long way over. Poor waste of a promising position.
59'—Lazy cross from Thavin who had three to aim for in the box, but he's poked it straight to the goalkeeper Sai. The first time France have really threatened in this half.
57'—Kondogbia is down and needing treatment now after colliding with Aboagye.
54'—Foul against Bahebeck and a chance for Ghana to get men into the box again...but Acheampong is offside as the ball is played over the top. Far better from the African side since the break.
51'—Good delivery from a corner this time from Acheampong and Areola misses it completely, and Baba is dismayed to watch his header drift over the bar with nobody on the line to stop it.
