That's it! The U.S. wins 6-1 and starts the Gold Cup on a high note.
The performance wasn't great in the first half, but Jurgen Klinsmann's men picked it up in the second half. Wondolowski scored the hat-trick in the first half, and Landon Donovan scored once and added two assists.
In the feel-good story of the night, Stuart Holden returned to the scoresheet for the U.S. and played well.
Donovan and Holden, among others, are giving Klinsmann plenty to think about with his A-team.
Onward. Cuba is next for the U.S.
90'—USA 6, BEL 1
Two minutes of added time.
It's just Belize, and there's more to see vs. better competition, but for me, Holden just strolled into first four on the USMNT team sheet.— Nutmeg Radio (@NutmegRadio) July 10, 2013

Into the closing minutes now…
Can the U.S. add to the 6-1 lead?
83 Yet another American attack ends in a Donovan backheel from point blank range, but Orio manages to get it away from his line.— FOX Soccer Trax (@FOXSoccerTrax) July 10, 2013
Orozco-Fiscal flashes a header just wide of the post! But he was offside anyway.
Even the official U.S. Soccer feed wasn't sure about that penalty call…
Belize is whistled for a hand ball in the penalty area! Ooooh. That looks like a bad call. Hit Ashley Torres' shoulder.— U.S. Soccer (@ussoccer) July 10, 2013
…and scores with a low shot to his right!
Handball in the box. Landon Donovan steps up…

Final sub for the U.S.

USA Sub: Torres exits and is replaced by Brek Shea. 61st minute— U.S. Soccer (@ussoccer) July 10, 2013
Lennen, the tough-tackling offender from earlier, is subbed off. Good riddance.
Corona floats a good ball to Donovan, who heads it to Holden, who steps in front of Wondo to bury it. Donovan alone in the 50-50 club now— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) July 10, 2013
58 Donovan headed back a cross from Corona and Holden had a simple tap-in.— FOX Soccer Trax (@FOXSoccerTrax) July 10, 2013
USA goal—it's Stuart Holden on a nice pass from Landon Donovan, who becomes the 1st US men's player to have at least 50 goals and 50 assists— Grant Wahl (@GrantWahl) July 10, 2013
A Belizian takes a shot to the plums and is down. This may take a while.— FOX Soccer Trax (@FOXSoccerTrax) July 10, 2013
Looks like he's OK.
Holden has replaced Beckerman for the U.S., by the way.
Horrible tackle. If anyone was still awake, that would have been a straight red— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) July 10, 2013
