Shawn Marion's a bit old to play in the NBA Summer League, so he's spending his days in the Chi-League Pro-Am getting dunked on by a guy who plays ball for a mid-major college team.
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay product Alfonzo McKinnie nabs a pass on the way to the hoop, goes up and slams down a dunk over a rotating Marion.
Before we go crazy about Marion getting embarrassed by a college junior from a branch campus of UW, you've got to realize that McKinnie is a solid 6'8" and a monster of an athlete.
Further, Marion laughs off the dunk as he runs back down the court, making it seem as if he's not exactly going at full speed against the young folks.
For years, professionals have been hanging out in Chicago, playing alongside college kids and a few amateurs from around town. Occasionally, the pros have taken the amateurs a bit too lightly.
This time around, there are a handful of professionals participating, with Marion being joined by Anthony Davis, while Jabari Parker and local product Cliff Alexander slip in and out throughout the summer.
It doesn't seem as if Marion was discounting the young fellow from UW-Green Bay; he just didn't rotate around quickly enough to completely contest the shot.
Also, if Marion had put everything into blocking that dunk, it would have looked even worse.
