Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is "on the verge" of joining Chelsea in a €40 million move, according to Diario AS.

Suarez, 26, scored 23 goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season. The Uruguay international drew a 10-match suspension near the end of the season for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. According to the AS report, Suarez and Ivanovic have "made their peace."

Suarez would make €5.5 million per year at Chelsea. Real Madrid are also interested in Suarez, according to the AS report.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool have told Suarez to decide his future by July 22.

Brazil international midfielder Paulinho is set to undergo a medical in London ahead of a £17 million transfer from Corinthians to Tottenham Hotspur, per BBC Sport.

Paulinho, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder, scored twice in four matches during Brazil's run to the FIFA Confederations Cup title last month. He has scored five goals in 17 international caps.

The transfer could be announced later on Friday, with Paulinho signing either a four- or five-year contract, according to the report.

Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi could complete a transfer to Real Madrid within 72 hours, according to Diario AS.

Illarramendi, 23, played 32 league matches last season for Sociedad. The midfielder has been capped at various youth levels for Spain.

Sociedad are holding out for Illarramendi's full release clause of €30 million, per AS. Illarramendi has reportedly requested that the deal be completed before he is scheduled to return to training on July 11.

Speaking to Marca, Sociedad captain Xabi Prieto said: "It's true that Real seems to be very interested in signing him. We'll have to wait and see what happens."

Cavani, Ibra Would Make 'Great Duo'

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been quoted as saying Ibrahimovic and Napoli's Edinson Cavani (pictured) would make a "great duo," per La Gazzetta dello Sport (in Italian, h/t ESPN).

Cavani, 26, led Serie A with 29 goals for Napoli in 34 games. L'Equipe has linked the Uruguay international with a summer transfer to PSG.

Agent Mino Raiola, however, said Cavani's release clause of €63 million could be a problem.

"Certainly, Cavani and Ibra would form a great duo, although even I could play with Zlatan—he's the best,” Raiola said. “For me, Cavani to PSG looks difficult. There is a serious problem because of the clause."

Meanwhile, La Repubblica (h/t Football Italia) reported this week that PSG could offer Napoli €40 million plus Ibrahimovic for Cavani.
