Chelsea are planning a £10 million move for AS Roma's Italian international midfielder Daniele De Rossi, per the Daily Mirror.

De Rossi, who turns 30 this month, has spent his entire professional career with Roma but endured a tough past season in the Italian capital after Roma failed to qualify for Europe. He made 25 appearances in the league and recorded three assists, per WhoScored.

The Mirror's article quotes Roma president James Pallotta as saying "everybody is on the market."

Real Madrid have decided to end their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur's Welsh international midfielder Gareth Bale for the summer, according to Marca.

Spurs told Real "no" again, per the report, with club chairman Daniel Levy reportedly unwilling to negotiate. Bale, 23, believes he has time to move on to a bigger club in the future.

In May, the Daily Mail reported that Real were planning a £65 million bid for Bale, who was named FWA and PFA Player of the Year last season in the Premier League.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney must submit a written transfer request if he wants to leave the club, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Rooney, 27, has been linked with a move away from United this summer. At the end of last season, outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports that Rooney had asked for a transfer. Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are interested, according to Metro.

According to the Mail's report, Rooney returned to training on Wednesday but did not have a meeting with new manager David Moyes about the situation. United say Rooney is not for sale.

New City manager Manuel Pellegrini recently signed winger Jesus Navas from Sevilla. The Express quotes Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido as saying Negredo also wants to leave.

"He has said he wants to develop and that he wants to play in the Champions League," del Nido said.

Negredo, 27, scored 25 goals in 36 league appearances last season. He joined the club from Almeria in 2009.
