EA Sports Madden NFL 25 has you covered. At least virtually.
Donning his current No. 5 jersey in this exclusive game footage, Tebow lines up at tight end and hauls in a number of passes from Patriots starting quarterback Tom Brady.
Virtual Tebow looks like a natural at the position. He's fluid out of a three-point stance, he attacks the football at its highest point and appears to be a veteran running routes. As expected, Tebow is hard to bring down after the catch.
And catching the football doesn't look like much of a problem, either.
Of course, real Tebow has a long ways to go before reaching the virtual version of himself.
A quarterback his entire football career, Tebow has been targeted on just one pass while in the NFL.
It didn't end well.
Facing the Miami Dolphins last season, Tebow motioned from the backfield and ran a flat pattern to the offense's left. Quarterback Mark Sanchez went Tebow's way, but his fastball bounced comically off Tebow's helmet before he could turn around and attempt to catch it.
Tebow as a tight end has been discussed at length but never put into motion. With the Patriots releasing Aaron Hernandez and the potential of Rob Gronkowski missing time due to offseason back surgery, the idea of moving Tebow to a pass-catching role has intensified.
Tebow is a strong, tough runner, but has still developing skills as a natural passer. As the theory goes, moving Tebow to tight end would give him a better chance at taking advantage of his unique skill set.
So far, however, Tebow has remained a quarterback. In New England, he'll remain the third-string behind Brady and Ryan Mallett.
Don't expect to see virtual Tebow turn into reality. But at least you now know that moving the quarterback to tight end will work in Madden NFL 25.
