Eric Bledsoe Trade Rumors: Latest on Bucks, Mavericks and More Interested in PG
Eric Bledsoe isn't a free agent this summer, but his name is still one of the hottest among speculation of a potential team-change around the league.
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Bledsoe had been dealt to the Phoenix Suns as part of a three-team deal:
Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler will go to the Suns, Jared Dudley and JJ Redick to the Clippers and 2 2nd-round picks to Bucks, sources tell Y— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 2, 2013
It turns out there is very little reason to hold on to a young, talented, valuable point guard when you just signed arguably the best floor general in the Association for the long haul.
And that's exactly what the Los Angeles Clippers did with Chris Paul, per CBS' Ken Berger:
Pending league cap figures becoming official on 7/10, Chris Paul's deal with the Clippers will be for $107M over five years, source says.— Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) July 1, 2013
Bledsoe is an electric young point guard. Blessed with exciting athleticism, the 23-year-old enjoyed the best season of his burgeoning three-year career last year, averaging a stat-stuffing 14.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per 36 minutes.
When he becomes a restricted free agent next summer, he will assuredly be offered a healthy contract—and one that the Clippers won't be able to afford for a backup point guard.
As such, they are interested in getting something for him now before losing him later for nothing.
Currently, a sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks is garnering the most attention. ESPN's Marc Stein has the details:

With the Clippers needing shooters—Mayo knocked down over 40 percent of his threes last year—and the Mavs in search of a future point guard, it's a deal that makes sense for both sides.
But it's not the only one on the table. According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, the Milwaukee Bucks are also interested in Bledsoe:

Don't expect this to be the last of the talk—Bledsoe is a hot commodity, and as his list of suitors seemingly grows longer by the day, a potential deal gradually becomes more likely.
There's always a chance he stays in Los Angeles and plays out his contract. Still, it seems that the question is no longer if the Clips deal the explosive guard, but when.
