Roxxi Gone From TNA: A Wise Move?

Christi LottCorrespondent IMay 6, 2009

Big news coming out of TNA in the form of Roxxi getting the axe. The report is that this stems from a backstage altercation with Rhaka Khan.

Why is this a big deal? Because, at the time, Rhaka was the girlfriend of Kurt Angle, who apparently used some stroke to get Roxxi fired. I for one and not a fan of this move, and here's why:

Roxxi is a solid wrestler who fits TNA's attempts of trying to not look like the competition. Roxxi comes straight from the Indies and is an extremely physical and tough woman, both inside the ring and out. She simply put is an original and was one of their brightest standouts, especially after shaving her head.

It seemed like her push was stalled, despite having the fans behind her and she could've easily filled Gail Kim's empty spot. I still don't understand why TNA never tried to push one of their tough (non-WWE) faces to be Awesome Kong's consistent opponent.

I'm very disturbed by the rumored situation surrounding Roxxi's departure. It would be different if the other person was a capable wrestler, but Rhaka Khan is plain and simply awful. Even more so if she used her then position to have someone removed.

I doubt the WWE will swing in Roxxi's direction, as the now "PG" WWE shies away from a woman like her, but you never know.

I for one can say that TNA is losing a valuable asset to its Knockout Division.
