Happy Canada Day in advance if applicable!
It's so amazing to be able to sip your cappuccino on a terrace amid the Grande-Allée in Québec City during a long holiday weekend and write about what passions you most: Pro wrestling!
Seriously, the times are changing for the better in WWE and it's all thanks to great talent like Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, The Shield and of course, Chris Jericho.
The master of character evolution has been on a nice ride since returning and it would be great to see him capture a World championship this year, precisely the WWE championship.
I have penciled an article about this a while back and it garnered enough attention that it made me wonder: What will WrestleMania XXX's main event be like?
The only thing acceptable for next year's extravaganza would be to have a unification match to determine the sole, undisputed World Champion in the company.
Yes, you heard it here first...kinda. The time for separate champions has come and gone. There can be only one, don't make me cut off some heads!
I believe a recent interview with Paul Heyman himself suggests the same thing.
Picture it—WrestleMania 30, New Orleans and a match for the undisputed WWE championship pitting CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho.
The first undisputed champion in history deserve the honor of reciprocating.
This isn't the Y2J of WrestleMania 18. It is the older, wiser and better version, and believe me when I say this, he can deliver a "match of the year" caliber bout.
It is important to get behind a great character like this one. He is unique in his own way and hasn't let anyone down since his arrival in the company.
He puts himself out there in helping up-and-coming talent rise up and gain credibility. His promos are always good and whether it is a Tag, IC or World Champion, his matches never fail to entertain.
WrestleMania XXX is mostly likely going to be the most stacked card in history given the fact that Brock Lesnar, The Rock and company are all active (somewhat) performers.
John Cena can have a crack at The Streak. It is the honor of honors but he just has to stay far, far away from any potential championship unification match.
CM Punk could be in there but he could also be involved in a match with Stone Cold by then so it is still up in the air.
That is why Chris Jericho is perfect to main event and with guys like Bryan and Ziggler, they could pull off the match of the decade.
What a perfect way to crown your career. One last amazing hoorah for the greatest prize in all of professional wrestling.
Someone needs to teach these "future" guys a lesson. Someone like Y2J.
On a side note, the reason I went with Punk vs. Bryan vs. Jericho is simple: Punk hasn't main-evented Mania yet, Jericho needs to be in the title match and Bryan could very well win the Rumble.
Any of them could, really, so why not have a scenario where instead of having to choose one champion, the RR winner challenges both, winner takes all.
If you have any sort of pride, you could never refuse.
So there you have it. A problem solved.
Chris Jericho needs to have a WWE title + main event WrestleMania before he calls it quits =
Exactly what is suggested above.
It is only fitting that the next time this company decides on having its World championships unified, the name Jericho needs to be associated with it.
Imagine all the great promos coming out of that living legend's mouth in preparation for such a moment.
Must-see TV every week.
He has done so much and there is still some things left to do, whether he realizes it or not.
The incredible star power on hand wouldn't have to main event, per say, in order to sell this awesome show however, Y2J needs to be on top of the list come April 2014.
It will be a day long remembered, a moment in time no one will never, eeeeeeever forget!
