Semi-scary situation at Nats Park. They're emptying sections 228, 226, 224 as a light standard crackles and burns.— Adam Kilgore (@AdamKilgoreWP) June 28, 2013
From the looks of the video, the fire didn't spread.
The fact that the game wasn't halted is a bit troubling.
The main difference between the two fires is the timing. The one in 1993 happened during batting practice with very few fans in the stadium.
This one was during the game and the teams played on like nothing was going on.
Hopefully, MLB will get involved in this and put standards in place should this happen in the future.
Play continued on, and the Diamondbacks eventually won 3-2 in 11 innings.
