A fire in the lights made for a scary scene during the 11th inning of the game between the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Semi-scary situation at Nats Park. They're emptying sections 228, 226, 224 as a light standard crackles and burns.

From the looks of the video, the fire didn't spread.

The fact that the game wasn't halted is a bit troubling.

This fire brings back memories of the fire in the press box at the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in 1993.

The main difference between the two fires is the timing. The one in 1993 happened during batting practice with very few fans in the stadium.

This one was during the game and the teams played on like nothing was going on.

Hopefully, MLB will get involved in this and put standards in place should this happen in the future.

Play continued on, and the Diamondbacks eventually won 3-2 in 11 innings.
