Dallas Cowboys Fanbase Can Now Claim NJ Governor Chris Christie Among Them
The Dallas Cowboys' fanbase might be the most expansive in the NFL. No team in the history of the league has enjoyed a national following as long as the franchise that settled in the Lone Star State in 1960. There's a reason that the Cowboys have long been referred to as "America's Team."
But the biggest fanbase in the NFL just had another coup, specifically the "coming out" of New Jersey governor Chris Christie as a fan of the big blue star. Christie told an audience of elementary school students earlier this month that he was neither a fan of the Jets nor Giants, who both play their home games in the Garden State. No, Chris Christie told the world that he was a Cowboys fan.
And the children rightfully booed their governor as loudly as their little lungs would let them.
But The Guv surely isn't the only man who has latched onto the Cowboys as their team. That club has hordes of bandwagon fans, including Olivia Munn. She's from Oklahoma, and according to her, a big Cowboys fan. Imagine her reaction when she spent 30 minutes talking to Jason Garrett at a recent Super Bowl party (h/t dallasnews.com).
I tackle that issue and more in a whimsical, filibuster-friendly edition of "Let Me Get This Straight." Enjoy my bodacious musings in the video above and leave your own thoughts on Dallas Cowboys fans in the comments below.
As always, thanks for watching.
