Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes are officially on a recruiting roll.

Jamarco Jones, a 4-star offensive tackle out of Chicago, verbally committed to Ohio State during a press conference at his high school Thursday afternoon. Jones, who holds offers from more than 25 programs, chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Michigan State, his other finalists.

Jones becomes commit No. 14 for Ohio State's 2014 class, and as one of Meyer's top targets, his pledge is a huge win for the Buckeyes.

So what will Jones bring to Columbus in 2014 and beyond?

Ranked the No. 43 prospect and the No. 5 tackle in the country, Jones' commitment gives Ohio State a  talented player at a position of need.

The 6'5", 290-pound tackle possesses the characteristics Meyer looks for in his offensive linemen. He's  quick on his feet, has incredible strength and plays with the kind of mean streak that's perfect for Meyer's power spread offense.

Jones' high school coach, Dan O'Keefe, told Allen Trieu of Scout.com what makes Jones so special.

We've had big guys, and there are big guys all over the league and all over the state. On every league, on every roster, you can find guys that are 6'5, 290-lbs, but not guys that size who can move like he can. He can pull, pass block, he has quick hands, quick feet, and he's hard to get by. He doesn't give up sacks.

Ohio State has a huge need for offensive linemen. The Buckeyes will lose four of their five starting linemen to graduation after the 2013 season (left tackle Jack Mewhort, left guard Andrew Norwell, center Corey Linsley and right guard Marcus Hall), and Meyer is desperate to add depth.

That depth isn't there because the Buckeyes signed just two offensive linemen (Evan Lisle and Timothy Gardner) in their 2013 class. The transfer of former 4-star offensive guard Joey O’Connor didn't help matters either, so it's vital for Ohio State to load up on linemen this year.

Meyer is doing just that. Jones is the third linemen to commit, joining 4-star prospects Kyle Trout (tackle) and Marcelys Jones (guard). The Buckeyes are also high on the lists of elite prospects such as Damian PrinceJermaine Eluemunor (current UCLA commit), Chad MavetyDemetrius Knox and Alex Bookser

Jones' commitment, though, ensures that Meyer and the Buckeyes will be getting one of the top linemen in the country.
