With the 2013 NHL draft just days away, anticipation is rising steadily. With the Stanley Cup champion now crowned, the focus turns to the day when some teams' fortunes will change dramatically.

The lives of many of these prospects will never be the same as they take the first step to making it in the NHL. The depth in this particular draft is very good, and there is little consensus on how things will play out in a few days.

Halifax Mooseheads centre Nathan MacKinnon is expected to be the first player selected when New Jersey plays host to the NHL this weekend.

The following mock draft predicts all of the first- and second-round picks, beginning with the Colorado Avalanche's selection.
