The Better 2014 Stanley Cup Contender: Boston Bruins or Chicago Blackhawks?

The fans of the other 28 teams that didn't hoist Lord Stanley's Cup are already assessing the 2014 season.

Of course the draft and free agency will sway things a bit, but why not take a look at what should be an amazing 2014 NHL season and see who will contend for the Cup in one year's time.

The chief question is this: will either the Boston Bruins or Chicago Blackhawks contend once again?

Both teams will be up against a packed schedule with Olympic camps taking place this summer and the Sochi Olympics next February. Combine that with the extra amount of hockey played by both teams and the strain on the body is massive.

Plus, repeat appearances and repeat victories don't happen very often at all. The Red Wings were the last to appear in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals in 2007-08 and 2008-09 and they were the last to win back-to-back titles ten years prior to that.

But, both teams are stacked with talent and chemistry, although free agency will affect both the Bruins and Blackhawks in some way.
