The Chicago Blackhawks have all the reason in the world to celebrate after an exhilarating 17 seconds of play in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final saw their fortune change from being down 2-1 to hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup for the second time in four years.
Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews was the first man to touch the Cup and returned to the ice a few hours later while Comcast Sportsnet Chicago was still airing their live postgame show from Boston. The man known as "Captain Serious" got to show off his fun side in what may have been the greatest impromptu act of his career, off the ice that is.
Per CSN, behold Toews' in all his championship glory.
CSN anchors Pat Boyle and Steve Konroyd were still talking about the collective Blackhawks postseason when Toews, Brandon Saad, Bryan Bickell, Dave Bolland and Daniel Carcillo came back out onto the Boston ice. After hailing down the CSN crew, Toews gave a worthy follow-up performance to his big two-point Game 6 effort.
Jonathan Toews: “Keep the bars open--we’re coming home. We’re going to fill the Cup and we’re going to share it with the city of Chicago."— Chris Kuc (@ChrisKuc) June 25, 2013
While the game itself will go down as an instant classic, I'm sure this video, and the subsequent GIF accompanying it, will go down in Internet lore as well. The 25-year-old captain has already made it plain that some of the 'Hawks have plans to keep the party going late, so don't be surprised if more of Captain Serious' sweet dance moves are revealed soon.
