The man known as “Mr. Monday Night” will once again wrestle for the WWE after a six-year hiatus.

The WWE announced on Payback that Rob Van Dam will make his return to the company at Money in the Bank. On July 14 in Philadelphia, we will see RVD’s WWE comeback.

Will Rob Van Dam steal the show? That depends on what he does at July’s pay-per-view.

A lot rides on what happens early in the game with Van Dam. He could simply make an appearance, which seems very unlikely.

Van Dam would probably work a match at the event. Why would he just appear in front of a crowd that made him famous during his days at ECW?

Van Dam can work a match with the current bunch of new young talent. Maybe he begins a feud with notable heels: perhaps Wade Barrett or even the world champion Alberto Del Rio.

It’s most likely Van Dam will return to the match that elevated his career to new heights: the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Van Dam’s unorthodox style was amplified in ladder matches. He defeated many WWE Superstars in the ladder match, including current Superstar Christian.

His most notable victory in the ladder match was the Money in the Bank contest at WrestleMania 22. He defeated Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin, Matt Hardy, Bobby Lashley and Finlay for the briefcase. Van Dam would cash it in at the 2006 ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view, capturing the WWE title from John Cena.

The best move for the WWE is to put Van Dam in the Money in the Bank match. It makes sense to position Van Dam in the match category he made famous in his former stomping grounds, the ECW. Not only will his presence blow off the the roof, but being inserted in this match category with others will also definitely make fans’ heads explode.

Get ready for the explosion if Rob Van Dam gets the Money in the Bank ladder match, because he will steal the show come July 14.
