A development in the Paulinho mini-saga, it seems.

The Metro are running quotes from former Arsenal player turned Corinthians director Edu that suggest talks are progressing well with Tottenham Hotspur.

"The situation is well underway," confirmed Edu. "We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can’t say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good."

The bid is reported at £17 million, and for that price, Andre Villas-Boas is picking up an excellent player.

Simon Mignolet

There appears to be a little confusion over the fee for Simon Mignolet, but at least everyone agrees he's moving clubs.

Neil Jones of The Liverpool Echo believes the Belgian will join for £9 million, while many nationals, including Jamie Holland of the Irish Independent, believe the fee is £11 million.

Expect this one to go through early next week, and Sunderland will now have to search for a new No. 1.

Real Madrid have stolen a march on Manchester City in the race for Isco, according to Pete Jenson of the Daily Mail.

They've agreed on a fee—which couldn't have been difficult, considering his buyout clause is €30 million and Malaga won't accept a penny less—and will now discuss personal terms.

After shining at the Euro U-21 Championships in Israel, it appears Isco's suitors are keen to get the deal done to fend off new interest.

Luis Alberto

ITV Sport have confirmed Luis Alberto has joined Liverpool after a protracted transfer chase.

The Sevilla midfielder spent last season on loan with Barcelona's B team, scoring 11 and assisting a whopping 17 goals to catch the eye of Brendan Rodgers.

He now moves in a circa £6.5 million move to Anfield, giving the Reds true competition for places across the advanced midfield line.

Victor Wanyama

According to David Friel of The Scottish Sun, Victor Wanyama could soon be leaving Celtic after a transfer fee was agreed for his services.

Not to Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool, though, but to big-spending Southampton, whose manager, Mauricio Pochettino, just happens to be a friend of the agent of the Kenyan powerhouse.

That's all that's happened so far, though, and Wanyama has set the record straight on the situation from his holiday:

"Yes, my club has agreed terms with Southampton, but I will also have to agree to terms before I consider myself a Saint. The deal is far from being complete."

According to the Daily Mail, Bruno Ecuele Manga is being targeted by Everton as Roberto Martinez buffs up his central defensive corps.

Adam Szalai is set for a move to Schalke after agreeing to a long-term contract. Mainz will receive €8.5 million, according to Hassan Talib Haji of

Tony Banks of the Express is reporting that Wayne Rooney prefers a move to Chelsea over a move to Arsenal, should he leave Manchester United.

TalkSport believe both Arsenal's and Barcelona's hopes of landing Samir Handanovic have been dashed. Internazionale have bought his remaining 50 percent share from Udinese, making the move permanent.

Finally, Thiago Alcantara looks all set to complete his £15 million move to Manchester United in the coming days—David McDonnell of the Mirror believes almost all the details are ironed out.
