The Thursday, June 20 edition of TNA Impact Wrestling, which aired live from Peoria, Ill., opened with Sting in a new appearance by walking toward the arena wearing a business suit, signifying the return of the Main Event Mafia.
Hulk Hogan got things started by introducing Bobby Roode and Jeff Hardy to the ring. Hogan showed a recent fan poll on the entrance-way screen, which revealed that Hardy, instead of Roode, would select their opponent on Open Fight Night. Hardy quickly selected Roode to face him in the main event on Impact Wrestling. Afterwards, a brawl erupted in the ring among all competitors of the Bound for Glory series.
Match No. 1: Mr. Anderson vs. Joseph Park
Your winner via pinfall: Mr. Anderson.
Thanks to Doc from Aces and Eights interfering in the match, Mr. Anderson was able to pick up the victory and score a quick seven points in the Bound for Glory series. However, this was a slower opening match, and it was evident the crowd had little interest in watching it.
Match Rating: 2/5
Match No. 2: Jay Bradley vs. Austin Aries
Your winner via pinfall: Austin Aries.
Nothing more than a decent match, as Bradley was able to get a good amount of offense against Aries. Despite the loss, Bradley has the potential to become a strong heel in TNA. The pinfall victory by Aries landed the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion with seven points.
Match Rating: 3/5.
Match No. 3: Hernandez vs. Christopher Daniels
Your winner via pinfall: Christopher Daniels.
Interesting finish to this match, as Daniels was able to score the victory in quick fashion. Unfortunately, this makes Hernandez look weak in his first Bound for Glory series match.
Match Rating: 1.5/5
Match No. 4: Kazarian vs. Magnus
Your winner via submission: Magnus.
Magnus has all the tools and talent to become the winner of the Bound for Glory series. The submission finish helped Magnus pull ahead with 10 points.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
After a commercial break, Brooke Hogan came out and invited the whole TNA Knockouts division to the ring. Eric Young and ODB spoke first and decided to strip themselves of the Knockouts Tag Team titles before leaving the ring. Hogan took control of the microphone next and created Mickie James vs. Velvet Sky for next week on Impact Wrestling and a rematch between Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell.
Match No. 5: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
This was a no-contest match.
With the match reaching its time limit, both Styles and Joe received two points for their efforts. Although it was not spectacular, the match was extremely competitive with some hard-hitting punches and submission holds by Styles and Joe.
Match Rating: 3/5
Match No. 6: Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy
Your winner via pinfall: Jeff Hardy.
A shorter but solid main event while it lasted, as Hardy pulled a Twist of Fate out of nowhere to score the victory and earn seven points. Despite the loss, expect Roode to quickly turn things around.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
Bully Ray arrived in the ring and spoke briefly about his TNA World Heavyweight title reign. Suddenly, the Main Event Mafia's music played, as Sting joined Ray inside the ring. As Ray called out Aces and Eights, members of the group were shown taken out backstage. While Ray attempted to retreat backstage, Angle attacked the World Heavyweight Champion as Impact Wrestling faded to black.
