Twins Strike Early, Hold on Late Against White Sox

Weary of being first-inning punching bags all season, the Twins tried it themselves Tuesday night. All nine players in Minnesota's lineup came to the plate in the first inning Tuesday, the first time that's happened in 2013, and the result was a four-run lead that the Twins spent the rest of the night protecting and then squandering. The White Sox eventually tied the score at 5-5 on a Paul Konerko RBI single in the eighth, but the Twins pulled out a 7-5 victory after Ryan Doumit delivered a two-run double in the bottom half of the inning.
