European U-21 Championship Final

Spain 4-2 Italy

Spain lifted the U-21 European Championship trophy in style on Tuesday afternoon, beating Italy 4-2 in an enthralling game.

Thiago Alcantara scored a 37-minute hat-trick in the first half as la Roja dominated, and the sides went into the break with the score at 3-1—Ciro Immobile the sole scorer in blue.

Spain controlled the tempo of the second half and secured a fourth, killer goal in the form of an Isco penalty after good work from Martin Montoya. Fabio Borini's late wonder strike proved only a consolation effort.

Spain were the clear and deserved winners, and the best team throughout the competition.
