In Adelaide, Australia over the weekend, an amazing winning streak was ended.

The New Zealand seven's team was looking for their 48th victory in a row and their 7th tournament win on the trot, but it wasn't meant to be loosing to South Africa in the Final.

It just so happens that the last time NZ lost was also in Adelaide, when they lost to Fiji in the semi-final in 2007.

It wasn't the story book ending that Steven Yates was hoping for who is now leaving to play 15 aside rugby in Japan.

When South Africa scored first New Zealand looked shocked, but the NZ public back home didn't start worrying.

Yet.

South Africa were up 10-0 at halftime. Kiwis at home started to think that maybe, just maybe NZ might lose, but when Victor Vito bulldozed thorugh three South African defenders to score with 8 minutes left NZ was right back in it.

Celebrations were short lived when three minutes later, Juries darted between Vito and Lawrence to make the score 15-7 which is how it ended.

The amazing streak held by New Zealand is over, but they still lead the series by 34 from South Africa(92). Fiji have 74 and Samoa 68.
