Baltimore Ravens Sign John Beck

The Baltimore Ravens have come to an agreement with former Miami Dolphins quarterback John Beck. Beck was initially drafted by former Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller in the second round of the 2007 draft to be the future of the franchise.

However, the Dolphins signed Chad Pennington last off-season and drafted Pat White in the second round this year in addition to retaining Chad Henne from last year, making Beck expendable.

Current Baltimore offensive coordinator Malcolm "Cam" Cameron was the head coach of the Dolphins in 2007 and is quite familiar with Beck. Beck is expected to challenge Troy Smith for the backup quarterback spot. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
