In a move that is definitely out of left field, the New England Patriots have reinvigorated the phenomenon of “Tebowmania,” according to ESPN's Ed Werder:

Whether one wants to admit it or not, we all knew there was a pretty good chance Tebow would be signed to an NFL roster before the start of the regular season.

However, who would have thought the Patriots, of all teams, would swoop in and provide Tebow with a place to call home?

While Tim Tebow will be yet another weapon in head coach Bill Belichick’s arsenal, one cannot help but wonder if such a move will be a disturbance for the Patriots going forward. Year after year, media outlets have built up every situation Tebow has been in to be the alpha and omega of topics in sports.

No doubt, no one in their right mind would think Patriots fans would lobby for Tebow to take snaps for Tom Brady. Even the thought is just plain ridiculous.

Leading up to this point, it had been somewhat difficult trying to grasp Belichick’s actual feelings toward Tebow.

After all, in an article by Yahoo! Sports’ Michael Silver, one source conveyed that Belichick “hates” Tim Tebow and that the team “wouldn’t like the circus that comes with it.”

When contacted by ESPN Boston, Belichick exclaimed that such disdain was “completely untrue.”

Nevertheless, in order for Tebow to have been connected to the Patriots in the first place, Belichick and his staff had to have been somewhat smitten with the idea of having a player with the versatility Tebow possesses.

It will be interesting to see how Tebow and the Patriots are projected in the media leading up to the start of the regular season.

Ultimately, it is inevitable that all subject matter regarding Tim Tebow and the Patriots will be blown up to unimaginable heights.

If the past has been any indication, we will not have to wait long to see.
