The losing streak, the anemic offense, last place in the AL Central, Billy Butler has been here, he's felt all of this before. But, through it all, he's always hit. There has been some frustration, sure, as much of this season has been a struggle for Butler like it has for the rest of the Royals. The hits just haven't been there. As Butler makes his way through the clubhouse before Kansas City's game Wednesday, it's hard to tell. He jokes with Luis Mendoza, stops by Luke Hochevar's locker to offer up a few music suggestions and then kicks back at his own locker as he waits to head out to batting practice. There's a calm, even jovial mood despite the Royals' 11-game losing streak at Kauffman Stadium. And Butler exudes a confidence that the upswing is coming; he keeps things simple.
