Kyle Busch gave himself a present on his birthday. After winning the Nationwide race on Friday, Roundy won the Sprint Cup race on Saturday night. He was able to move past Jeff Gordon, who was the only driver near the lead to stay out on a fairly late caution.

Gordon finished in eighth position and took over the season points standings lead.Tony Stewart finished second and Jeff  Burton finished third. The race started with green/yellow caution laps to help dry the track and ended with a record number of cautions.

There was much less drama than last weeks Talladega race, and much better racing. Points leader Kurt Busch finished 12th and fell to second in the season standings. Carl Edwards was in the top three with 30 laps to go but faded back to 26th at the finish. Local favorite Denny Hamlin led early and finish 14th.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup series moves to Darlington next week.
