It's a road that started, for some, in the summer of 2012. Saturday, Belmont Stakes Day, these three-year-olds reach the end of that journey. We're a long way from the Shire folks; this is Mount Doom.
The Belmont can be affected by many things: weather, post position and how Big Sandy behaves as either sunlight or rain beats down on her (as it stands, the chance of rain—once as high as 60—dropped to 20 percent).
Is the rail acting as a conveyor belt? Might favor Frac Daddy down on the inside. Is the rail quicksand? You might be better off with the filly Unlimited Budget on the outside.
Either way, keep it locked here at Bleacher Report for the latest on this final leg of that long, long Triple Crown odyssey.
