For Trojan fans hungering for good news after learning that former USC defensive line pledge Eddie Vanderdoes has transferred to UCLA, the wait wasn't long.

Former 2011 5-star defensive tackle Delvon Simmons is transferring from Texas Tech to USC.

Multiple sources, including Gerard Martinez (@gmartlive), have also confirmed this via Twitter:

Also reporting the news is Reign of Troy's Trenise Ferreira, who offers the tweet from Simmons himself:

Just made it official I'm gonna be a USC Trojan #FightOn

This is huge news for USC, which almost had Simmons signing his letter of intent out of high school only to see the big tackle switch to North Carolina before transferring to Texas Tech where he played for two years.

In Simmons the Trojans get a versatile interior lineman who can play anywhere inside and is rapidly improving as he has put on more bulk.

Now up to 290-plus pounds, Simmons will immediately provide depth when he becomes eligible in 2014.

Of course, with a player who has transferred twice already, there is a concern that he is difficult to please. But until he proves that is the case, fans of the program should be very pleased indeed.
