Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may no longer be an active WWE competitor after losing the WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania XXIX, but he hasn't had any trouble keeping busy. In addition to a booming movie career, The Rock will star in the new TNT show The Hero.

The Hero is a reality show that pits seemingly ordinary people against each other in order to prove who deserves to be called a hero, according to TNTDrama.com.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson brings to TNT an epic competition testing the strength, courage, and integrity of a diverse group of nine individuals. Each week, the contestants will be tested, physically, mentally, and morally, as they try to prove that they truly deserve the title of "The Hero" and the life-changing grand prize that goes with it. With temptations around every corner, America watches to see what the contestants are willing to overcome, undergo, and sacrifice on behalf of themselves and others. In the end, it's America's call on who will be "The Hero."

The Rock knows a thing or two about being a hero, so it's hard to imagine that TNT could have found anyone better to host the show. With The Rock's signature brand of humor and charisma sure to take center stage, there is a reason for everyone to tune in.

Here is everything you need to know about The Hero, including where to watch the season premiere as well as what you can expect from the contestants.

Trailer

While TNT has been promoting The Hero heavily over the past several weeks, there is still plenty of mystery with regards to exactly what the show entails. Luckily for those who were on the fence about watching, The Rock released the most comprehensive trailer for the show to date.

The trailer features plenty of action and sheds a bit of light on the premise of the show. It seems as though the contestants will be challenged to face their fears and complete some seemingly impossible feats. Also, The Rock mentioned that money will be involved and that America will play a role in terms of voting for their favorite contestants.

This truly seems to be a reality show unlike any other, so it's definitely worth checking out as pretty much anything could happen.

Premiere Preview

According to TNTDrama.com, The Hero's premiere episode is entitled "Courage." It's obviously a fitting episode name as courage is arguably the main attribute that all heroes must possess. While it's impossible to do anything other than speculate at this point, it seems quite likely that every episode will focus on a different attribute and feature challenges that relate to it.

If TNT's description of the premiere episode is any indication, there is no question that the contestants' courage will be put to the test right away.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson welcomes nine strangers as they move into an upscale Panamanian penthouse together, each with hopes of being crowned “The Hero.” With up to a million dollars at stake, the contestants quickly realize that this will be no ordinary contest, as they must climb and hang from skyscrapers, navigate dark underground bunkers and face tough moral dilemmas. In the end, there can only be one hero, and America will vote on the winner. In the War Room, a sudden change of heart shocks the group.

TNT needs a strong first showing in order to draw in viewers for the remainder of the summer, so look for Thursday's premiere episode to be entertaining from start to finish.
