Former Auburn basketball player Varez Ward offered to pay other players to tank a game against Arkansas in 2012, according to prosecutors. Ward and others devised a scheme to fix the point spread for the Auburn-Arkansas game on Jan. 25, 2012, according to prosecutors, who add that Ward's task was to make sure Auburn ultimately lost the game. Auburn was a 9-point underdog entering the game. Ward was injured 19 seconds after entering the game and did not return.
