Franklin Gutierrez had to end his minor league rehabilitation assignment today because the 20-day limit was up. Problem is, he's not yet recovered from his hamstring injury to the point where he can play multiple days in a row. So, the Mariners are having him re-evaluated tonight by Dr. Edward Khalfayan, then will petition MLB to begin another rehab assignment. Gutierrez will have to wait at least five days for that to start, provided the league signs off on it once seeing the medical evaluation. He's already sat out the last two games.
