This morning Guy Lafleur was found guilty of obstructing justice during in 2007 when he gave contradictory evidence at a bail hearing for his son.
During sentencing arguments crown prosecutor Lori Weitzman made it clear that Lafleur should be treated like anyone else.
"Justice has to be applied equally," she said.
His lawyer argues that Lafleur has suffered enough because of all the publicity and pleaded his client only be fined.
On the other hand the crown is asking for a conditional sentence to be served in the community.
The sentencing part of the trial is on June 18
