Youngs Say They're Leaving UH

Michael Young said Friday he has left the University of Houston, ending a more than two-decade relationship with the school that he began as a charter member of Phi Slama Jama and most recently as a member of coach James Dickey's basketball staff. Young refused reassignment within the UH athletic department after his contract as director of basketball operations — a position he held for the past seven of his 16 years working at UH — was set to expire Friday. He was offered a community service role within the UH athletic department.
