Les Miles Rappels Down a 24-Story Building in Downtown Baton Rouge

LSU head coach Les Miles is a unique person.

Known as "The Mad Hatter," Miles has entertained SEC media and fans ever since he took over as the head coach of the Tigers before the 2005 season with wildly entertaining press conferences, an affinity for eating grass and oftentimes inaccurate use of the English language.

He's quirky, but in a marvelously entertaining way.

On Thursday, he took it to the next level.

Miles rappelled down the 24-story One American Place in downtown Baton Rouge in support of "Over the Edge for Adoption."

The pictures were worth well more than 1,000 words.

Miles is called "The Mad Hatter" due to his larger-than-normal hat.

Maybe now he should be known as "The Mad Helmet?" Or perhaps "The Dark Helmet" from Spaceballs?

Whatever you want to call him, the pictures that came from Miles' trek down One American Place were fantastic.

Here's Miles getting some last-minute tips before heading up, courtesy of LSU associate sports information director Bill Martin.

Once he gets up to the roof, you get a better idea of just how high up he really is.

And he's off!

And here's the scene from below as he makes the leap, courtesy of Visit Baton Rouge.

What were the people inside doing? Working? Of course not. They were taking pictures of Miles on the way down.

Miles made it down safely, and will return to his regularly-scheduled grass-eating.

Don't ever change, Les. Don't ever change.
