San Jose prevailed on home ice Sunday evening to extend a thrilling series against Los Angeles. The Kings and Sharks are heading to Game 7 after San Jose claimed a 2-1 victory in Game 6 at HP Pavilion, where the squad is now 5-0 during the playoffs.

Joe Thornton put San Jose on the board first when he scored on one of three first-period power-play opportunities. T.J. Galiardi also notched a goal for the Sharks.

Antti Niemi, a Vezina Trophy finalist, out-dueled fellow standout goaltender Jonathan Quick. Home teams are now 6-0 in this series, which heads back to Los Angeles for a do-or-die series finale.
