Cole Hamels of the Philadelphia Phillies had oppressed the Nationals all game, placing them on brink of wasting Stephen Strasburg's menacing brilliance. Finally, they found their spark in the last place you would look: a 65-foot groundball from a backup catcher who started the season at Class AAA.
