I often wondered whether inductees know in advance that they've been selected. After all, why would candidates and their families attend the announcement in uptown Charlotte knowing they may face disappointment or embarrassment at missing the cut? Now, after spending most of Wednesday at the Hall of Fame and watching the selection and announcement process, I'm convinced inductees don't know until their name is called. “You're always hopeful,” said new inductee Jack Ingram, “but you never know how things will go in that room.”
