This video is part of B/R's new series "The Rookies," where we take the helmets off the players and bring you closer to their lives and personalities.

Over a half-million viewers on YouTube have seen Justin Pugh talk to Giants head coach Tom Coughlin on draft night and then get ambushed by his friends and family at his draft party. There were lots of folks at Pugh's party.

Among them, his core group of seven friends who grew up with the Giants' No. 1 draft pick and they know him the best. The eight friends are so close, they all have tattoos of the number eight.

They knew the 19th overall player in the NFL draft since he was the "overweight kid" in elementary school to his rising career at Syracuse. They all grew up just outside of Philadelphia and were all huge Eagles fans, though their loyalty is now with the Giants because their best friend Justin Pugh is wearing blue.

Check out the video above as we caught up with Justin Pugh's best friends and stars of the YouTube video at Bowlmor in New York City.

Let us know in the comments below if you think Pugh was a good pick for the Giants.

Stay tuned for another video documenting the rookie life of Justin Pugh.
