Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings Game 3: Live Score, Updates, Analysis

Franklin SteeleAnalyst IIMay 20, 2013

Game 3 between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings is over, and the Wings have taken a 2-1 series lead.

Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller broke through with two goals a mere 30 seconds apart midway through the second period, but Patrick Kane scored later in the third to make it a one-goal game. Johan Franzen was down in a heap on the play, and the 'Hawks capitalized on the ensuing rush.

Mule would later grab some revenge as he assisted on Pavel Datsyuk's goal in the third period, restoring a two-goal lead.

Both teams brought the heat in Game 3, and the nastiness that the first two games lacked is starting to boil over finally. The teams combined for nearly 50 hits, and there was plenty of extra-curricular activity after whistles.

Jimmy Howard was outstanding, only giving up one goal on 37 shots.
