In so many ways, the best and most important money game Patrick Ewing ever played for the Knicks, the one that finally put him into the NBA Finals, was Game 7 against another Indiana Pacers team, back in 1994. Patrick scored 24 points in that game, had 22 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks, made the put-back — of a J.L. Starks miss — that finished the Pacers once and for all. Then Patrick stood on the scorer's table and threw out his arms, like he wanted to wrap them around Madison Square Garden in that moment and all the people in it.
