Landon Donovan has had quite the career.

In playing across different continents professionally and for the United States men's national team (USMNT), Donovan has certainly cemented himself as one of the best U.S.-born soccer players ever—if not the best.

However, Donovan has been less than impressive in his return to the game after taking four months off to recharge. Even though he was left off the USMNT this year by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, Donovan hopes to earn his way back.

In his professional career, he's won five MLS Cups, two with the San Jose Earthquakes and three with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

With the USMNT, he's the all-time leader in goals and assists with 49 and 48, respectively.

Donovan took some time to talk to Bleacher Report Assistant World Football Editor John Greely about his future with the USMNT, his relationship with David Beckham and Manchester United's hiring of David Moyes.

Check out the video above and feel free to comment on whether Donovan will return to the national team, and how he'll fare!
