Detriot's Draft Class

1. Matthew Stafford QB Georgia (Grade: B+): Yes he is a good QB and could be the new franchise QB but the lions needed to go for Aaron curry with that pick. So, a good QB is acquired, but he is not the solution.
2. Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St. (Grade: C): "What!" was the common response. A tight is not what the lions needed either, especially not with Rey Magula still around. Yes he will help with the O-line, but this guy would have been around for No. 33 so they could have taken Wake forest's Alphonso Smith instead and then taken Pettigrew with the No. 33 and forgotten Louis Delmas.
3. Louis Delmas S West Michigan University (Grade: A): The first pick I agree with. This was something the lions needed help in the secondary finnaly. His speed will help with the coverage down-field.
4. Deandre Levy LB Wisconsin (Grade: B): He will be a help, but he is not Aaron Curry.
The lions also took Derrick Williams the WR from Penn State. He will be a good back-up to Calvin Johnson.
I would say, the Lions did bad in the draft this year. When they took Mathew Stafford everyone was still available, especially Aaron curry who could have been the best lion ever drafted.
When they took Brandon Pettigrew, Rey Magula was still on the board. He was also there when they took Louis Delmas. The lions made it seem like they would be smart in the draft, but again they drafted a bunch of talent positions—not talking the players that build teams.
